Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel Adding to Guest Experience in 2022 with New Attractions
It's considered one of the finest hotels in the country, if not the world, and it's right here in Michigan. The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island has made it their mission to provide guests with the ultimate experience during their stay, and this year they plan on offering even more.
Just last year the hotel unveiled the newly renovated historic Esther Williams Swimming Pool as part of their biggest renovations, spending $10 million over 8 months. This year the hotel is adding more activities for guests to enjoy with two new additions to the grounds.
The hotel has started work on a new 18-hole miniature golf course as well as a new nature center. Both are part of an $8 million in projects this winter to be finished in time for the summer 2022 season. Both the nature center and the mini-golf course will be part of several new attractions planned for the hotel.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the Grand Hotel's new investment will at not only activities but a new restaurant as well. Coming to the Grand Hotel will be;
- An enclosed nature center, which will include an operating greenhouse.
- An outdoor miniature golf course.
- An outdoor BMX bike course.
- A bicycle rental area.
- Outdoor pickleball courts
- Detroit-Style Pizza Parlor.
The great thing is that all of the new activities and attractions will be not only available to hotel guests but island visitors as well for a fee.
"We’re excited about the evolution of Grand Hotel’s long-standing history as we usher in the 136th season," David Jurcak, president of operations at the Grand told the Detroit Free Press.
