Want to Stay the Night at the Most Unique Hotel in Michigan?
If you're thinking about taking a trip within the great state of Michigan, why not stay somewhere unique?
Of all the places to stay within the Mitten State, how do you know which place is the most unique? That's where Thrillist steps in to help us out. They recently looked at places across the entire country to determine which was the most unique hotel in each state. They looked at hotels, inns, and lodges and came up with this selection of 51 places.
To give you an idea of how wildly the spectrum on unique goes, lets take a look at some of the places to stay that made the list...
The Most Unique Hotel in Every State
In Arkansas, you can stay the night in a literal cave in the Ozarks. That cave comes complete with a hot tub, five bedrooms, and a heliport. In Idaho, you can sleep in a potato at The Big Idaho Potato Hotel.
And while Michigan's most unique hotel might not be a giant spud, it is pretty grand...
The Most Unique Hotel in Michigan is the Grand Hotel
Thrillist determined that the Grand Hotel, located on Michigan's Mackinac Island, is the most unique hotel in the state. The Grand Hotel is comprised of 386 rooms, has been the sight of mega motion pictures, is said to be haunted, and offers some of the most stunning views that Michigan has to offer that you can take in on the world's largest front porch. Plus, it's located on an island that doesn't allow cars. I'd say that was pretty darn unique.
Here's the deal, if you'd like to plan a stay there, you'll have to wait. The Grand Hotel is open seasonally, and will reopen for its 139th season on April 25th, 2025.
