Well here we go again. Another new start, another new era, another new leadership or however you want to present it but as a Detroit Lions fan, we are starting all over...again.

The Detroit Lions organization announced earlier today the firing of both head coach Matt Patricia and General Manager Bob Quinn.  Quinn was brought in 2016 from the New England Patriots organization in hopes of bringing the some of the winning culture New England possessed. Two years later he announced fellow New England defensive coach Matt Patricia as the Lions new head coach. Both were given the task of elevating the team to a championship level.

What winded up happening was almost the complete opposite as the Lions went 33-29-1 under their leadership.  Too many embarrassing moments that led to some unbelievable losses including losing nine of their games after they holding a double digit lead. Those types of embarrassing losses ended being the most in the league. Cap that with 11 straight losses during the 2019/2010 season and its clear the Lions weren't getting better nor would they have any hope in a championship season anytime soon.

It was obvious Detroit Lions fans weren't happy.  Many took to twitter to express their displeasure prior to the firings.

In a statement released earlier today by the Lions, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell will take over as interim head coach. The Detroit Lions now become one of three teams to need a new coach as the both the Texans and Falcons recently fired their head coaches.

Detroit Lions owner Sheila Ford and team president Rod Wood are scheduled to speak on the actions taken earlier today at a 4pm press conference.
