Will JCPenney Locations in the Lansing Area Be Closing?

There are currently two JCPenney locations in the Greater Lansing area. There's one at Lansing Mall on the city's west side, and another at Meridian Mall in Okemos. Both stores have been anchors at those malls since the early 1980s.

If you've been to either Lansing Mall and Meridian Mall recently, you've probably noticed that both malls have a significant amount of vacancy thanks to various stores shuttering over the course of the past several years. Despite that, neither mall's JCPenney location appears to be a candidate for closure at this time.
