Seeing a puddle is fine, a robin sighting even better, but one true sign that spring is just around the corner in The Mitten State is concert announcement season, and the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill has just announced roughly a third of its 2026 schedule. With more shows certain to be announced soon, the summer of 2026 is shaping up to be a heck of a year for live music.

What to Know Before Attending a Freedom Hill Concert

If you've never been to a show at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre, this could be the year. Since it's an outdoor venue, all shows are rain or shine, and while you're not allowed to bring in your own food and drinks, you can bring a chair.

Now, before you go loading up the family vehicle with lounge chairs, please note that any chair more than 12 inches from the ground when unfolded will not be permitted in the venue. This keeps the people behind you from having to erect scaffolding to see over your head.

Also, knowing that bags, purses, and clutches larger than 4 inches by 6 inches are prohibited will save you a frustrating walk back to your car. If you have a medical need that requires a larger bag, you get a pass.
