How Old Is Too Old To Go Trick-or-Treating?
With Halloween right around the corner, an age old question has reared its head again...
How old is too old to go trick-or-treating?
IMO, I don't think any age is really too old to go trick-or-treating. If you show up to my house for some candy on Halloween night, I'm gonna give you some candy. I don't care if you're 6 or 60. I think kids grow up too quickly as it is, so if you've still got that child like wonder and whimsy and want to go trick-or-treating, I'm all for it. I'm also not too hung up on costumes either. If you have a costume, GREAT! If not, I'll still give you candy. I don't presume to know your life... Costumes, and Halloween in general, can be an expensive holiday for some people, and not everyone can afford a costume.
Now, that's just my take on trick-or-treating. I asked you, our Wittle Family, what you thought about "how old is too old to go trick-or-treating?", and here's what you had to say! BTW, my favorite answer was "No one over the age of 100.7".
- Never too old to go trick-or-treating! - This was the majority of answers from those who commented. There were a few variations, like "dead" and 123 years old because the oldest person in recent history got to the age of 122.
- Teenager - There was a good handful of people who said something along the lines of "teenager". Some people gave specific ages like 15, 17, 18, or 19. Other more general answers were, "when you don't need a parent to escort you then you're too old" or "all the way through high school".
- As long as they're dressed up, it doesn't matter - This was another popular answer. It seems that most people are happy to hook trick-or-treaters up with candy as long as they're in costume.
