The Henry Ford Museum has just announced they will soon be opening a permanent exhibit all about auto-racing. The new, permanent exhibit called “Driven to Win: Racing in America" will debut sometime this June. According to MLive.com, GM is the sponsor of the 24,000 square foot exhibit that will feature "historic stock cars, sports cars, drag racers, Indy cars and more."

On display will be the 1988 Chevy-powered Penske PC-17, driven by Rick Mears in the third of his four Indy 500 wins. And it won't all be GM cars. Also on display will be "Goldenrod," a 1965 land-speed record holder that was powered by FOUR Chrysler Hemi engines and hit 409 mph.

And, if you've seen the movie Ford vs Ferrari, you'll want to see the 1967 Ford Mark IV, which won at Le Mans with the all American team of racing legends Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt driving. This was the follow-up version of the Ford GT40 featured in the movie that won at LeMans.
