How about it, are you up for another adventure?

If you're like me and you like getting out in nature as much as possible, I've got another place for you to visit and it's close to home. Have you ever been to the Harris Nature Center in Okemos?

Harris Nature Center

The Harris Nature Center is surrounded by 200 acres of forest and near the Red Cedar River. There is a half mile paved trail you can travel and other natural trails.

If you're looking to do something with the kids why not pack some lunch for a picnic and spend the day checking out their unique playscapes? They have cool stuff like a giant spider web and the large Beaver Lodge. They also offer summer camps for kids.

Adopt an Animal

Have you ever wanted to adopt a unique animal? The Harris Nature Center has several unique animals that are permanently injured and cannot return to the wild.

You can help out by adopting one of these animals and sponsoring them. Essentially, it helps them thrive in their new environment and receive the proper care.

Music in Nature

Not only can you discover nature on your own but you can also enjoy music. The Music in Nature has returned and the next performance is Sunday, September 19th! So, make sure you mark your calendar or you'll miss an awesome performance by Monte Pride.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Harris Nature Center is located at 3998 Van Atta Road in Okemos.
