Another Lansing Eatery Has Quietly Closed Its Doors
Lansing has another business closure to be aware of.
It's always sad to see a business has closed, and this one wasn't around for very long.
Lansing Business Closure
This latest eatery to leave the Lansing food scene is El Catrin Taco Shop
El Catrin opened at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Shepard Street in December 2023. They took over the building of the former Tanin, and before that, Tabooli.
Now, El Catrin seems to have quietly closed its doors.

On December 28, 2024, someone in the Lansing Foodies Facebook Group asked, "Anyone know what's going on with El Catrin on Michigan Ave? Lights have been off every time I go by for a week now. No recent posts on their FB page." No one in the comments was able to offer any insight.
However, now we know that it is closed.
When I went on location to see, there was a "for lease" sign up, and the entirety of the inside seating area was completely gone.
When I go online to check on them, there is a number provided to call to place an order, however, when calling that number it immediately tells you that number is out of service.

We don't know when El Catrin Closed its doors, but it seems like perhaps sometime in the last month or two, as there is still some signage up on the outside and the windows.
It's sad to see them go, especially because they were only open for a couple of years.
