New Country Festival Coming to Lansing Riverfront in August
Lansing is set to launch a new country music festival this August.
The "Country on the River Music Festival" is scheduled for the evening of August 1 at the Fish Ladder Music Park in Old Town. It's presented by the Capital Region Community Foundation, Lansing Riverfront, and Michigan Country Entertainment.
Organizers say the festival will feature "two stages of local and regional country artists, all set against the backdrop of the riverfront at sunset."

The Riverside Stage is scheduled to feature Michigan country singers Tyler Payne, Justin Judge, and Isaac Harper, while the Fish Bowl Stage is set to showcase Mark Blomsteel & The Motor City Drive along with Neon Crows.
Launching a country music festival in Lansing has been a goal for Al Garcia, founder of Michigan Country Entertainment, for quite some time.

"We are excited and we hope to make this an annual event. I think Lansing needs something like this," says Garcia, adding that it's a perfect opportunity to showcase Michigan country talent to fans in the greater Lansing area and beyond.
General admission will be free, with reserved seating available for $15.
More Events Planned for Fish Ladder Music Park in 2026

The season is slated to open May 29 with "The Ultimate 80s Party" featuring Starfarm and DJ Dav. The "Good Vibrations Celebration" will follow on May 30 with what organizers call "a night full of feel-good vibes, funky tunes, and community along the riverfront."

The Fish Ladder Music Park is located at 216 E. Grand River Ave. in Lansing.
