Steel Vengeance, the world’s first “hyper-hybrid” roller coaster, is operating as of this morning at Cedar Point. Today is media day, so only screaming DJs and TV reporters are riding it today. HOWEVER, there is a chance for you to hop on board this week - before it opens to the public on May 5th.

Steel Vengeance combines a steel track with a wooden structure which makes it a "hybrid coaster". It features a 90-degree initial drop and 200-foot dive at the start. It also features the “Twisted Snake Dive,” which takes you through a half-barrel roll, holds it upside-down for a moment and then twists back the other way. The ride lasts 2 and a half minutes.

And YOU can ride it THIS week. According to Cedar Point, the "Steel Vengeance First Rider Benefit" fundraiser for the LeBron James Family Foundation gives you the opportunity to ride Steel Vengeance on the evening of Friday, April 27. Tickets are $50 per person with all proceeds going to Lebron's Foundation. A limited number of tickets are available at cedarpoint.com/events.
