Another Michigan Bow-fishing Record Falls
Congratulations to Tyler Fisher of St. Charles, MI (southwest of Saginaw). According to the Detroit Free Press, Tyler now holds the Michigan state record for landing the biggest bigmouth buffalo. He got this one while bow-fishing on the Shiawassee River. Tyler's fish weighed 32.01 pounds and measured 38 inches long. Bow-fishing is just what it sounds like - hunting for fish (usually some sort of slow bottom feeder - until you hook or hit them) with archery gear.
It seems that bow-fishing records are being broken every year in Michigan. Last year the record for the biggest black buffalo was broken by a bow-fisher. The DNR reports that Michigan anglers have taken 14 state-record fish in Michigan over the last decade.
Here's the story. Yes, with photos.
