The Lansing Ignite played their inaugural match Saturday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

It was a great night with great attendance. Everyone from soccer fans, soccer mom's and dad's and their young soccer players and teams, people who had never watched a professional soccer match live before (like me) and more.

The Ignite took on and beat the Richmond Kickers, 3 to 1.

Another great match is coming up on Tuesday, The Capital Cup. It will pit the Lansing Ignite against The Michigan State University Spartans. Michigan State students can save too if they are planning on attending. The Ignite is giving the first 1,000 MSU students with a valid ID tickets to the match for only $5.00. The Capital Cup is planned to be a new annual competition between the Ignite and the Spartans, much like the Lugnuts and the Spartans feature contest every year, the Crosstown Showdown. The Capital Cup will take place at 7 p.m. at Cooley Law School Stadium.
