Where are the best boating lakes in Michigan? Let me just make one thing perfectly clear, I'm not an expert when it comes to boating or anything like that, but I have been on a few pristine lakes worth boating on.

Back in my high school days, I used to go to Duck Luck near Charlotte with one of my best friends. We went skiing for hours at a time and had a blast.

And no I'm not saying "Duck Lake" is one of the best boating lakes in Michigan, but I will say it's a fairly decent lake.

I would have to say that Torch Lake in Bellaire is one of the best boating lakes in Michigan.

So what do we know about Torch Lake? Courtesy of premierboating.com:

Regularly rated one of the top inland lakes in the US (and often in the world) due to its Caribbean-colored waters and summer vibes, Torch Lake has an amazing reputation for good reason. A long, deep lake, Torch has very few beaches but is well known for its various sand bars where boaters anchor and congregate, turn up the jams, and party in the shallow water. If you’re not into crowds, no worries. Torch Lake is Michigan’s second-biggest inland lake and there are plenty of places to find solitude.

My wife and I took our kids to Torch Lake over five years ago and rented a pontoon boat. We were out on Torch Lake for close to four hours. It's one of the most beautiful lakes you will ever see in Michigan.

Lake Michigan is another great lake to go boating on, especially in Grand Haven. This is such a beautiful area  of our state and it's a busy area because there's so much to see and do.

Why do Michiganders love it so much in Grand Haven? Here's more from premierboating.com:

Enjoy watersports on Spring Lake before heading out on a cruise through the Grand Haven Channel. You’ll pass through the bustling beach town of Grand Haven (with some amazing restaurants and bars), pass right by the State Park that hosts huge beaches and a campground, and finally cruise past the Grand Haven Lighthouse and pier - one of the most iconic lighthouses in Michigan.

So remember Spring Lake to Lake Michigan is one of the best boating areas around.
