What’s Going On in Michigan This Labor Day Weekend?
The unofficial end of summer is upon us, but there's still some warm weather to go before fall fully takes over. Here are some events happening within a two hours' drive of Lansing over Labor Day Weekend, in case you're up for a little fun.
Michigan State Fair
The Michigan State Fair is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2022. You can be part of the fun beginning Thursday and continuing through Monday (September 1-5) at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The fair features livestock events, home arts and agriculture events, live entertainment, carnival rides and plenty of food!
Michigan Chicken Wing Festival
Here's a delicious way to spend your Labor Day Weekend! The Michigan Chicken Wing Festival will be taking place Saturday and Sunday (September 3-4) at Adado Riverfront Park in Lansing. The event promises "a plethora of different flavor wings from food vendors, food trucks, beer, wine and spirits, kids zones, craft and merchandise vendors, community resources, and more."
Michigan Renaissance Festival
The Michigan Renaissance Festival continues every weekend through October 2 in Holly. Travel back in time to the 16th century and enjoy the fun, including more than 100 artisans, 17 entertainment stages, and all the mead you could ever want. And turkey legs. Let's not leave those out.
4th Anniversary Hog Roast
Grand River Brewery in Marshall will host its 4th Anniversary Hog Roast on Saturday, September 3. In addition to a delicious menu, event organizers pledge "live music, yard games and good vibes all day!"
