Got a little time this weekend? You might want to head up north on Saturday to Sleeping Bear Dunes. According to MLive.com, park rangers and the Grand Traverse Astronomical Society will host a "star party". The event will take place at the Dune Climb. After 4PM, party-goers will be viewing the sun and after 9PM, the telescopes will focus on deep space. Keep an eye on the weather (I don't think it will rain, but it there may be clouds to contend with) and if this night doesn't work out, they'll offer more of these parties, every month through October. Here's the link for more info and instructions on where to park.

But, hey - hanging out on the beach in northern Michigan on the first weekend of summer? Who cares if there's a few clouds.
