Watch out for another scam making its way through the area.

According to WLNS, the East Lansing Police Department is warning people not to fall for the latest scam making the rounds. This time, instead of making a phone call to try to scam you, they're contacting people via Facebook Messenger.

In the message, the scammers are claiming to be the East Lansing Police Department and are "demanding money for unpaid parking tickets." Don't fall for this! The East Lansing Police Department posted on their Facebook to alert people not to fall for the scam, and to remind people that they would not go about trying to collect money for unpaid parking tickets this way.
