This Saturday, September 21st, is National Museum Day. To celebrate, nearly 1,400 museums across the country will be offering free admission for Museum Day. There are several museums in the Mid-Michigan area that will be participating in National Museum Day. This Saturday, you'll be able to visit the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing for free from 10 am to 5 pm. If you've never been, the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum features antique, futuristic and modern automobiles, stationary engines as well as period clothing and war production artifacts.

You'll also be able to visit the Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson for free on Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. The Ella Sharp Museum was founded in 1965 and offers programs, exhibits and experiences preserving community history and explores Jackson’s prison history. The Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center will also be free on Saturday. (There's actually free admission every day to the Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center.)
