Adam Levine Picks Michigan State’s Evan James After Dramatic Battle
Despite the Spartans' disappointing Homecoming loss to Illinois last weekend, Michigan State University has a reason to cheer.
MSU student Evan James is moving on to the next round of NBC's The Voice after winning his Battle Round against fellow Team Adam contestant Luke Curran.

The two performed Tucker Wetmore's "Wind Up Missin' You," and apparently made Adam Levine's job a whole lot harder.

Adam admitted he kept changing his mind throughout the performance.
"At multiple points in this performance today, I was like, oh, Evan. And then I'm like, nope, nope, Luke. And then I was like, oh no, no, Evan."

He called the battle "neck and neck," acknowledging some pitch issues from both singers.
But Adam wasn't particularly concerned.
"Look me up. I'm pitchy all over the internet," he joked.

Ultimately, Adam chose Evan, explaining what tipped the scales.
"He's got a big, powerful voice that fills the room, and whenever that happens, it's incredibly hard not to stay with someone like that."
