Vandals Build Unauthorized Water Slide In St. Johns
According to the Lansing State Journal, Clinton County park officials are trying to find out who built an unauthorized water slide at Clinton Lakes County Park last weekend. This is the second time that vandals have struck the park. The first incident took place the weekend of September 20th/21st when vandals built a survivor-type shelter which caused damage to vegetation and the hillside. Now it appears that sometime on September 27th/28th vandals dug a channel in a hillside to create a plastic sheet-lined water slide into Little Clinton Lake. (Here's the photo and more details about the vandalism.)
The Park and Green Space Commission recently spent $40,000 to complete landscape improvements at the park. Clinton County is requesting anyone who may have information to contact the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
