Upper Peninsula Man Rams Vehicle into Kalamazoo Strip Club on Purpose
Police are investigating an incident involving a driver who allegedly crashed through a Kalamazoo strip club on purpose Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to Deja Vu and Little Darlings located in the 1300 block of Ravine Rd. at around 2:45 p.m.. The vehicle had driven through a wall at the business, causing damage all the way inside the club. When officers arrived, they located the driver who had remained at the scene and was not injured.
He was identified as a 36-year-old man from Iron Mountain in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. His name was not released. After further investigations, it was determined that he had rammed into the building intentionally and he was arrested related to the incident. Police say it was not a case of drunk driving but have not given any information about what may have made decide to crash his vehicle into the business.
The club was not open at the time of the crash, but the manager says three employees were inside at the time. No injuries were reported. Despite the damage to the structure, the club open as normal Monday evening as it was determined that there were no structural issues that would cause a safety concern to employees or patrons. Work is already underway to make repairs.
