Summer Events in Traverse City, Michigan

According to MLive, Traverse City Tourism made the announcement on June 1st.

Four teams from around the world are going to come together for this electrifying competition. Mark your calendars because this competition is taking place at Turtle Creek Stadium in Traverse City on September 9th.

You're going to see the U.S.A. take on teams from Mexico, Spain, and Germany. This ain't gonna be your dad's backyard Fourth of July fireworks display, this is going to be some serious stuff.

Fireworks Competition

Teams not only have to "create unique fireworks displays", but they also have to arrange a musical accompaniment. And timing out those fireworks to *BOOM* at just the right times with the music takes some planning and attention to detail.

At this time, the competition is still in the early stages of planning. But despite that, the Director of Events at Traverse City Tourism says we can expect a day filled with family-friendly events leading up to the big fireworks display.

If you just can't wait until September 9th to get your fireworks fill, not to worry. The Lugnuts are hosting fireworks after most weekend home games this summer, not to mention after the game they play for the Fourth of July. So there will be plenty of things that go boom in the night before then. Check out when and where you can find Fourth of July Fireworks displays in Lansing below.
