This Valentine’s Day – Forget the Cards – Give a Kidney

Ashley McIntyre and Danny Robinson are engaged and will get married later this year, because last year, right around Valentine's Day, Ashley decided to give a total stranger (Danny) one of her kidneys.

According to azcentral.com, last January, Ashley's mom heard Danny's mom on a radio show in their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, talking about Danny not being able to find a matching donor for a kidney transplant. Danny's family members didn't match and he'd been on a transplant list for two years. Ashley decided to take the tests to see if she was a match - and the rest is history.

Ashley is now pregnant and is due on June 9th. Danny and Ashley got engaged on Christmas, but they haven't set a date for the wedding.

I considered suggesting that they might have a "kidney shaped pool" at their future home - but decided against it.
