These Could Be The Hottest Nachos in the Lansing Area
Today is International Hot & Spicy Food Day. I have to admit that I'm really not a big fan of hot and spicy foods. In my world, a little spice goes all long way. However, every once in awhile I get some courage and try some spicy foods. The last time I tried something really spicy was in the fall of 2019 and it went something like this...
My husband and I went out for dinner at Art's Pub in Lansing. The restaurant was pretty busy so we decided to grab a couple of seats at the bar. I'm a big fan of nachos (yes, I know, carbs are bad) so we decided to split an order of nachos while enjoying a cold, adult beverage. There were several nacho options on the menu and we decided on an order of the "Marley" nachos. The menu description is "smoked chicken, jerk sauce, pineapple, pepper jack & cheddar cheese, habanero relish, cilantro & romaine." Yum, right?! Well, this is when I found out the hard way exactly what 'habanero relish' is and let me say, I have NEVER had anything that HOT in my life. It's SO HOT that my lips went numb, my skin felt hot and my eyes were watering like crazy. My husband thought that I was being a little 'overly-dramatic' until he got a taste of the habanero relish and then he found out the hard way how HOT it is. We asked the bartender for some milk and after guzzling a cup or two, we were okay.
A few weeks after this happened, Greg from Art's Pub came in to the radio station to talk about the restaurant for one of our Free Food Friday promotions. I told him the story about the HOT nachos and he started to laugh because well, he obviously knows that habanero relish is hot. (Who doesn't, right?!) Anyway, if you're looking for something HOT to eat in the Lansing area, you might want to check out the Marley Nachos at Art's Pub. Art's Pub is located at 809 East Kalamazoo Street in Lansing.
