Sad to say, another business is closing its doors. This time, it's in East Lansing.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the East Lansing Food Co-op is closing. LSJ was able to speak to the general manager Bruce Grambau, and he stated it's due to a decline in sales. Back in May, members were notified that sales were down 20 to 30 %.

Part of the decline comes from Whole Foods opening up not too far from the Co-op's location. Plus, Foods for Living, another business offering healthy food is located super close as well. Competition isn't the only issue, location is another. The East Lansing Co-op has been in business for 40 years, and even now,  Grambau says "people don't know we're here". The Co-op will close its doors by early February.
