Is Michigan One of the “Daddest” States in America?
Father's Day is this weekend. So, incase you didn't know, now you know.
What makes a dad, a dad? Obviously, it's the fact that he has children.
But when someone says "Oh, you're such a dad." What are they referring to exactly?
Is it the dad jokes? The fact that he refers to himself as the "grill master?" Or maybe it's his choice of attire.
A new study came out comparing all 50 states in order to determine which states were the "daddest." Let's see where everyone ranked.
The "Daddest" States
Zippia looked at four different factors, how much money dads spent on their children a year, their interest in New Balance shoes, how obsessed they are with barbecuing and the number of dad jokes.
Here's the top 5 states:
- Iowa
- Nebraska
- Missouri
- Vermont
- Kansas
According to Zippia, the "biggest grill daddies" are in Montana and no one in Rhode Island finds dad jokes funny.
Apparently the Midwest is about all things dad-like. We've got dads out here rockin' their bright white New Balances while tending the grill. Don't tell them how you want your steak cooked, they're going to cook it how they see fit.
Find out which states were the least dad-like here.
Where Michigan Ranked
Michigan ranked number 25. So we're smack dab in the middle when it comes to "dadness."
We asked listeners to share their favorite dad jokes with us on Facebook. Here's what they came up with.
"I'm terrified of Elevators. I'm going to start taking steps to avoid them.""My child refuses to nap. She’s guilty of resisting a rest!""Why do cows wear bells? Because their horns don't work!""I have a chicken proof lawn. It's impeckable."
"Why do people carry umbrellas? Because umbrellas can't walk."
My favorite dad joke has got to be "How do you follow Will Smith in the snow? You follow the fresh prints."
