If you're going to be spending time on campus in the near future, getting from point A to B there is going to get cheaper and easier if you need it. According to WLNS, Michigan State University will provide CATA bus rides for free for a limited time. It begins on August 27th.

When Michigan State updated their contract with CATA, they included a provision for this free transportation for a limited time. Before, students had to pay for a pass to utilize the service.

While this service may end after it's initial run, Michigan State University will be evaluating this free ride program and will be deciding whether it will definitely end or whether it will be extended for a much longer period after this trial.
