Think East Lansing Was Busy Last Weekend? Just Wait
If you were anywhere near East Lansing last weekend, you probably noticed the traffic.
Michigan State's Homecoming game against Illinois brought plenty of people to town. And if you were hoping things might settle down this weekend, um... probably not.

MSU Family Weekend runs Friday through Sunday, October 16-18, meaning parents, grandparents and other family members will be coming to town to spend some time with their Spartans.
And as luck would have it, there's also another home football game Saturday.
MSU Family Weekend Returns October 16–18
Friday's Family Weekend schedule includes campus tours, family photos at the Spartan statue, and a Green & White Night at the MSU Union.

Saturday brings activities at the Broad Art Museum, a registered family tailgate, and football.
Michigan State Hosts Northwestern Saturday
Michigan State hosts #25 Northwestern at Spartan Stadium on Saturday, October 17, with kickoff at noon. Parking lots open at 7 a.m.
There's an interesting storyline here, too. Spartans coach Pat Fitzgerald will be facing the Northwestern program he coached for 17 seasons.

MSU comes in at 2-4. Northwestern is 4-1.
On Sunday, families can enjoy Spartan Appreciation Day at the East Lansing Farmers Market as well as an off-campus housing crawl.
East Lansing Traffic Could Be Heavy Again
Even if you're not going to the game, expect extra traffic around campus and downtown East Lansing, particularly Saturday morning and after the game.
And with families in town all weekend, restaurants, shops and parking garages could be a little busier than usual.
Can You Still Attend MSU Family Weekend?
Registration for official Family Weekend programming is already full, although MSU encourages families to visit campus anyway.
So if your Saturday plans involve Grand River Avenue, Michigan Avenue, or anywhere near Spartan Stadium, give yourself some extra time.

Because apparently East Lansing decided one busy October weekend just wasn't enough.
