Tuesday is donut and bagel day here at the station. That happens upstairs. My office is downstairs, which means by the time I usually get a chance to get to the donut box, there might be one or two or none left.

Or even worse, a couple left...that...look...like...this...

You gotta be kidding me.

What compels people to do this? Now mind you, this isn't the first place I've worked where this happens. But unless I'm crazy (debatable) I don't know why anyone would think they could tear off a piece of a donut or bagel, leave the rest, and someone else would happen by the box later and think, "Hey there's that half a donut and torn up bagel I wanted, yum, yum!"

Getting back to other places I've worked, there used to be this guy at a station long ago that would literally hover over the donut box in the morning, pick a donut, break a piece off and eat it, leave the donut in the box, and come back throughout the day and work on the same donut until it was gone. If you wanted a donut, you'd have to make a run for the box before this guy got there to start his break off and eat routine because after that, the rest of the box was his...no buddy I'm good, you go ahead and take the rest...

Getting back to the here and now, I ask you mystery co-worker (or workers) please  take the whole donut or bagel with you. Nobody ever eats the leftovers in the box...ever. So you might as well go for the gusto and eat (or at least take) the whole thing.

Or better yet, just leave the whole donut or bagel right there in the box if you really only want half. I know a guy that would really like a whole donut every Tuesday or so...
