State’s Izzo says he likes the pressure of being a favorite
Tom Izzo's already talked to this year's Spartan basketball team and told them everybody has high expectations of them. According to MLive.com, he's OK with that. Yesterday at the teams's Media Day, Coach Izzo said he's seen his teams finish better than expected and finish worse than expected based on preseason rankings. All in all, he says high preseason expectations are better than none. "I much more like the pressure because that's better for the program, it's better for the players," said Izzo.
The Spartans are ranked by most "experts" in the top three going into the season. Some already have them winning it all, like HowTheyPlay.com.
The Spartans open the regular season against North Florida on November 10th
