Spiral Dance Bar Could Be Reopening Again Very Soon In Old Town
I'm never gonna dance again, guilty feet have got no rhythm. ( "Careless Whisper", George Michael/Wham)
Guilty feet have got nothing to do with why the dancing stopped at Spiral Dance Bar in Old Town.
You can blame that one on the pandemic. Like lots of businesses, the local favorite and then ONLY LGBTQ dance spot in Lansing had to shut down.
It was almost about a year ago that we discovered that the doors were indeed shut and the property was for sale.
The building itself listed for sale. To the tune of almost $700,000.
Again, no official word from the crew at Spiral. But it would appear that sadly the pandemic has claimed another business and they have had their last dance.

There might be a new lease on life and on the building from Leslie. Businessman Adam Brewer has now entered the chat.
And did we say lease? Scratch that. Let's talk purchase agreement.
Spiral Dance Club is on its way to a new life, says businessman Adam Brewer, a native of Leslie.
Brewer, 36, said he has made a nonrefundable deposit on a purchase agreement for the LGBTQ nightclub at 1247 Center St. in Old Town. It closed in March 2020 because of the pandemic and never reopened. (Lansing City Pulse)
How quickly could all this be happening? Well aside from waiting for all the legal approvals and liquor license transfers, they are thinking (and estimating) sometime after/in October? Maybe in time for Halloween?
A queen can dream can't she?
