Speed Limits Could Increase On Michigan Highways
So, you think people drive fast now? Well, just wait because the speed limit could soon be increasing on some Michigan highways. According to WLNS, earlier this week state lawmakers on the House Transportation and Infrastructure committee passed a plan that could eventually raise the speed limit on certain stretches of highway in Michigan to 80 mph. The bill will now go to the full House for a roll-call vote and if the speed limit changes are passed, we could be see the higher speed limits sometime this summer.
Wondering what roads will be affected? The possibilities include a section of I-75 north of Bay City, some parts of I-69 between Flint and Lansing and even some areas of US 127 north of St. Johns. You can read more about the changes by clicking here.
