Don't want your email or Twitter or Facebook messages being hacked? Afraid someone can get into your phone and steal information? According to the Washington Post, more and more governments are turning to a piece of communications equipment they say is "unhackable".

The typewriter.

The Russians are set to go back to typewriters, the Germans are thinking about it and they've already gone back to them (or never left) in some offices of the U.S. government and the New York Police Department.

No word yet on what they'll do about the original hacking equipment - white-out or a wide-tipped black magic marker.
