Rollin’ Stoned Tour Kicks off in Michigan
I had the opportunity to see Meghan Patrick and Ashland Craft perform their inaugural Rollin’ Stoned Tour at the Stache in Grand Rapids last week. While these two have been paying their dues for quite a while, the friends decided to “just do it,” and put a ticketed tour together, with Michigan as their first stop. Meghan said, “Nothing better than hitting the road with one of your best friends.” Ashland wholeheartedly agreed.

If you don’t know, Meghan is the wife of Mitchell Tenpenny. Raised in Canada, she stated that moving to the States meant she had to “do it all over again.” She has opened for the likes of Dwight Yoakam, Keith Urban, Old Dominion, Kip Moore, Brothers Osborne, and more. A talented songwriter as well as energetic performer, she lit up the Stache stage pulling from her history and her catalog, No Doubt and Led Zeppelin covers included. Meghan’s current album Goldenchild draws from life, love, heartbreak, and laughter...as any true country artist would.

South Carolina’s own Ashland Craft (whom you may know from The Voice, Season 13) also claims her rocks roots with influences running the gamut from Def Leppard to Bonnie Raitt. She has performed with Zac Brown Band, Brothers Osborne, Ashley McBride, Cody Johnson, and Morgan Wallen. Also a prolific songwriter, Ashland’s soulful growl belts out lyrics like “... It's a sure bet, you'll get your heart broke every time...” and the fans knew every word.

My thanks to both Meghan and Ashland for the time. Thanks to Intersection/Stache for their hospitality, and Nathan and One Bourbon for the amazing risotto.
