Robert Redford has had an incredible career as a movie star, but it may have just ended with a movie filmed partially at the Cell Block 7 Museum, at the former State Prison on Cooper Street in Jackson. This weekend, what he has said is his last movie, "The Old Man & the Gun", will premiere in selected cities (they're working on getting it into theaters in Jackson)

According to, the movie is the (mostly) true story of Forrest Tucker (a criminal - not the actor who played Sgt. O'Rourke in "F Troop"), which stars Redford as Tucker, along with Sissy Spacek, Casey Affleck and Danny Glover.. Tucker escaped from various prisons - a lot, including an escape from San Quentin when he was 59 years old. Several scenes were filmed at the Cell Block 7 Museum and some of the props from the movie are now on display.
