The National Weather Service has confirmed that it was a tornado that touched down in Portland Monday afternoon. It was ranked an EF1 tornado with winds that reached 100 miles per hour. About 50 structures in the Portland area suffered some damage from the twister. Officials say that the tornado traveled approximately four miles between 2:30 and 2:40 p.m. on Monday and had an estimated width of 50 to 100 yards.
