If you're headed to downtown Detroit today to go to the Tigers game, city officials are kindly asking that you don't leave your valuables in plain view in your car. Yes, this is a thing. According to CBS Detroit, officials will place 'warning advisories' on vehicles this afternoon outside Comerica Park during the Tigers game for fans that didn't head the warning and left their valuables in plain sight. The advisories will be marked with the items that can be seen in plain sight and their estimated monetary value. It's part of a group effort involving HEAT –Help Eliminate Auto Thefts — the Detroit police, Wayne State and members of AmeriCorps.

One more thing...they're also asking you to remember to lock your doors--when you park in DOWNTOWN DETROIT! You can read more here.
