If you've ever driven through the small city of Ovid, Michigan, you've probably seen "The Castle That Ray Built". Otherwise known as "The Dutchman's Castle" as well as "The Pink Castle". Any way you split it, you really can't miss this house...
The Castle That Ray Built
Near the corner of Hollister Road and M-21 in Ovid sits a very unique house. What makes it so unique is a couple of things. 1) The backstory is interesting and tragic, and 2) it's bright pink.
I'm not joking about that, by the way... the house is painted in two different shades of pink.
Now that's you've seen a bit of the house, here's a bit on the backstory.

"The Castle That Ray Built" is actually a home that was built by Raymond Fury. The story goes that Ray was in love with a woman from Holland, and to try to impress her, he built this house and its windmill while trying to replicate what a home from Holland would look like.

Unfortunately, the woman he loved did not come. And sadly, Ray grew old and passed away at Ovid Health Care.
Now, the castle stands as a testament to his love. You can still see this house when you drive along M-21.
