It seems that a lot of people in Michigan aren't happy with Governor Whitmer's new proposed gas tax. If you missed it, (and I'm not sure how that's possible) Governor Whitmer unveiled a new plan earlier this week to roll out a 45-cent gas tax hike which would be phased in later this year and in 2020. The gas tax in Michigan is currently 26 cents and the Governor's plan would increase the state's gas tax 15 cents every six months over an 18-month period. You can see more about that by clicking here.

Earlier this week, a Michigan man started a petition at change.org to stop Governor Whitmer's proposed gas tax in Michigan. According to WNEM, Aaron Johnson started the petition on Tuesday, March 5th. As of early this morning (Friday, March 8th) the online petition already had over 50,000 signatures.
