A fairy, a mermaid, and a knight walk into a tavern… No, that’s not the beginning of a hilarious joke, that is something that happens on the regular at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, which goes on every weekend from now until October 1st!

Every weekend during Ren Fest has a different theme. The Royal Pet & Ale Fest happened last weekend. This weekend is the Highland Fling; featuring Highland Heavy Games, Race for the Rattle, Flint Scottish Pipe Band, Men in Kilts Competition, and a food & blood drive. Here are the rest of the weekend themes:

  • September 2nd, 3rd, & 4th - High Seas Adventure
  • September 9th & 10th - Wonders of the World
  • September 16th & 17th - Shamrocks & Shenanigans
  • September 23rd & 24th - Harvest Huzzah
  • September 29th - Festival Friday
  • September 30th & October 1st - Sweet Endings

All weekends offer a wide range of food, drinks, entertainment, and activities. If you want to plan a trip to this 16th Century village, make sure you get your tickets! Ticket prices range depending on when you purchase them and what type of ticket needs purchasing. You can get all that info HERE. You’ll also want to check out the schedule of their weekend themes (unless, of course, you just plan to go to all of them!) to better decide which weekend sounds best! And don’t be shy… costumes, while awesome, are not required. So don’t feel like you have to go all “Knight-in-literal-armor” in order to attend.
