Things You Actually Need to Bring to Faster Horses This Summer
Faster Horses is going to be here before you know it, and with that in mind, have you started your packing list yet?
What to Pack for Faster Horses
Faster Horses, like any other multi-day music festival, means you need to pack a little differently than just any old concert. Additionally, this is a multi-day camping music festival that takes place in the middle of summer in Michigan. So that adds some interesting layers to your packing list.
As someone who's attended Faster Horses multiple times in the past (and as someone who's certainly learned from their mistakes), I've learned that some things are better to pack than others. And some items are just downright necessary.

If you look at the Faster Horses website, it will tell you the specifics on what you can and cannot bring in, what kind and size bag you can bring in, and so forth. However, I'm going to highlight some things that may not be on that list, because experience says; it'll come super in handy.
PS - Before you even think about touching that Jansport backpack, keep in mind that all bags that come into the festival have to be clear and 12”x6”x12” or smaller.
Here's what you should be bringing to the 'Party of the Summer'.
Sunscreen
Yeah, Yeah, I know, I know... it already says on the website that you can bring in sunscreen. But I swear, every year there are just far too many lobster red people walking around. You're not doing your self or your skin any favors. Bring the dang bottle of sunscreen. You're going to be in the sun all day long, and there isn't shade when you're watching from the stage area. Reapply every two hours. Non-aerosol sunscreen only.
Hydration Packets
You're gonna need the electrolytes because you'll be sweating buckets all weekend long. I don't remember a festival weekend that was less than 75 degrees. You get to bring in a gallon-sized bag plastic bag filled with snacks, just toss a small handful of these packets in. And speaking of snacks...
Good For You Snacks
When I say good snacks, I mean ones that aren't just sugar. You're going to need some protein and some complex carbs, my friend. Especially if you're going to be enjoying some adult beverages throughout the day.
Hand Sanitizer
If there are two things you can be sure of at any music festival in the summer, it's that people are sweaty and gross, and so are those portapotties. Take hand sanitizer and don't be afraid to use it.
Baby Wipes
Speaking of gross, sweaty things, a baby wipe can help with that. Need to wipe the sunscreen from your eyes? Baby wipe. Need to wipe the food off your hands? Baby wipes. Portapotty run out of toilet paper? Baby Wipe. You'll thank me later...
