WATCH: Oxford High School Shooting Survivor Amazes AGT Judges
The "America's Got Talent" judges received a moving and sincerely heartfelt performance that we got to see and hear this week.
Oxford High School Graduate on "America's Got Talent"
In case you missed it, the performance was from 18-year-old Oxford, Michigander, Ava Swiss, who is also a graduate of Oxford High School. The same Oxford High School that experienced the horrific tragedy of a school shooting on November 20th, 2021.
Ava was at school with her brother the day of the shooting, and both are survivors.
It was her experience through this terribly traumatic event that played a part in the choosing of the song she performed. Ava sang, "Remember", by Lauren Daigle. And when asked by judge Simon Cowell if music has been her therapy through these times, here's what she had to say;
When I sing it, I remember the good, I remember my community, my family, just the love, and I remember that it’s all there for me.
And even before her performance, Ava received kind words from the most curmudgeon of judges, Simon Cowell.
Watch this moving performance below.
After her performance, Ava received standing ovations from not only the crowd but all the judges as well. In addition to that, Ava will be moving onto the next round of "America's Got Talent", because she received a "yes" from not one, not two, not even three...but all four judges. Judge Sofia Vergara even said, "you took my breath away".
