Traverse City, Michigan is Ranked as "Wilder" Than Las Vegas

Can you believe that there are cities out there that are "wilder" than Las Vegas? And it turns out, Michigan is home to one of them.

We all know that old saying, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." That phrase is infamous, because even people who haven't been to Las Vegas before know it.

America's Wildest Cities Ranked

Well... we might need to come up with one that has a "Pure Michigan" twist, because the Mitten State has a town that's even wilder than the place nicknamed, "Sin City".

Online Betting Guide (olbg.com) calls itself "The Most Knowledgeable Sports Betting Community in the World", and recently, they took a look at the craziness that goes down in cities across the U.S. because they wanted to know which places were the wildest.

To determine who came out on top of this wild list, OLBG looked at the amount of adults who've

binge drank or drank heavily
consumed marijuana
taken cocaine
how many casinos there were per 100,000 residents
number of strip clubs

Based on those factors, you might be surprised to learn that Las Vegas didn't crack the top three. In fact, it only came in at number four.

Traverse City is Ranked as "Wilder" Than Las Vegas

That's right; a city known for its annual Cherry Festival is wilder than the place nicknamed, 'Sin City'.

Here are the stats that earned Traverse City its wild ranking:

Adults who binge drink/drink heavily - 23%
People who've consumed marijuana - 65.8%
People who've taken cocaine - 23.8%
Casinos per 100,000 residents - 0
Number of strip clubs - 2

While there isn't a casino and there are only two strip clubs, it's the percentage of those who've taken cocaine that really moves Traverse City up the list. With 23.8% Traverse City has the highest percentage of people who've taken cocaine. Making it the inadvertent "cocaine capital" of the country.
