Even before he started driving, I've had the conversation more times than I can count with my son. Even to where he was rolling his eyes at me. But, I didn't care. It was always important to me to have the conversation...okay, conversations...about staying off the phone, paying attention, and staying safe behind the wheel.

Don't speed excessively...don't horse around in your car with your friends while you're driving...don't be texting...don't roll your eyes at your dad...

Well whether you've had the conversation or not, this week is a good time to break the ice and talk to your young drivers about safety because according to WILX-TV it's National Teen Driver Safety Week, going on through this Saturday.

And here's another good reason to talk to your teen, the recent count is almost 300-thousand. That's the number of teens who were treated in emergency rooms after being hurt in a vehicle crash.
