Breaking News: Tuesday morning, a moose escaped Canada by swimming through the Soo Locks and disappearing into the Upper Peninsula.

According to MLive.com, during this event, officials from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry were on the Canadian side trying to coax the moose out of the water and onto shore in Canada. Their efforts were unsuccessful. At last report, the moose had exited the Soo Locks and made it's way on shore on the U.S. side. It's possible this was an American moose returning home, but we won't know until he (or she) can be found and questioned

There were no reports of a possible squirrel companion.

This was all documented with photos on Facebook. So it must be true.
