If you went to high school in Stockbridge with Koltin Grammer, (he graduated in 2011) you might want to know that he's seeing the world these days courtesy of the U.S. Navy, on-board the aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Grammer is a machinist mate working on it's two nuclear reactors. "My job is to maintain reactor components so the reactor can make steam, which makes the ship move,” says Grammer.

The USS Ronald Reagan has been spending time recently in San Diego undergoing maintenance ( I saw it parked right across from the USS Midway Museum when I was there in March) as it gets ready to move to Japan and become part of the U.S. 7th Fleet forward-deployed naval forces (FDNF) in Yokosuka, Japan.

So if you know Koltin, he's now your "go-to guy" for authentic "Hello Kitty" merchandise and all those crazy anime comic books.

And from everybody at WITL - thank you Koltin, for keeping that thing going every day. It can NOT be easy to maintain nuclear reactors (I get confused by my furnace), but I know it takes every one of those 3000 crew members to make sure those aircraft can launch and land when we need them to. When you get home, I'll buy you a couple of beers.

And maybe you can help me fix my furnace.
