Michigan’s Thunderbirds and Blue Angels Flyover – Postponed
Bummer. The Navy Blue Angels and Air Force Thunderbirds flyover, scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) in Michigan, has been postponed.
According to WXYZ-TV in Detroit, late Tuesday afternoon, word came down from a Blue Angels spokesperson saying, "Due to some unforeseen circumstance the Blue Angels appearance for tomorrow has been postponed." The speculation is that the poor weather forecast is the "unforeseen circumstance". The plan was for both the Thunderbirds in their F-16s and the Blue Angels in their F-18s to do low flyovers (not aerobatics) over Detroit to honor their health care and frontline workers (and my hope was they would show Lansing some love, too)
The spokesperson did say "postponed", though. Hopefully this event will happen again soon. The flyover in New York did look cool.
I suppose, if it's cloudy enough, we could get some big speakers and some jet sound effects and SAY they flew over. That's probably what I would do, if they left me in charge.
