Today - a cautionary tale. Be wary of buying monkeys online.

For one fellow Michigander who did, it hasn't turned out well - at all. According to Fox17online, Don Abrego, from Wyoming, MI, decided to purchase a monkey recently. Online, he found a capuchin monkey for sale in Hawaii. After paying $400 through PayPal, he was asked to pay more for travel and vet costs. Again and again. Now, he's out thousands of dollars - and still - no monkey.

He's coming forward so that you don't make the same mistake.

It's actually legal to own a monkey in Michigan, according to my research. The State is not too keen on you owning something bitey - like a lion or tiger, or yes - a bear. Here are the state guidelines for exotic animals.
