Michigan State Police: don’t take your mobility scooter out on I-75
Wednesday, Michigan State Police started getting multiple reports of a slower than normal vehicle operating on I-75 near West Branch.According to MLive.com, Trooper Jeff Devine responded to the call and found a 76-year old lady on her way home from shopping at Walmart. She was piloting her Amigo mobility scooter on the shoulder of the freeway. The minimum speed limit on I-75 is 45 MPH. She was smoking along at 5 MPH and had been doing so for at least a mile. (Well, the weather was nice on Wednesday)
Being the nice guy that he is, Trooper Devine loaded the Amigo in his car and gave the lady a ride home. And let her off with a warning.
