Michigan State alum Ryan Riess back in Vegas for the WSOP
If it's summer in Vegas - it's time for the World Series of Poker at the Rio. The main event won't take place until the second week in July, but the pre-game festivities have already started. According to the Detroit News, to kick things off this week, former champions Ryan Riess (a Michigan State grad) and Joe Cada (a big Michigan fan) played TOGETHER in a tag-team format event.
Also playing as a team were Ann Arbor pro Jeff Gross and his buddy (and Olympic gold-medal winner), Michael Phelps. Neither team survived the first day of play.
Ryan is looking for his second bracelet, Joe is looking for his third and Jeff is considered somebody to keep an eye on.
The WSOP Main Event will start this year on July 8th and be televised by ESPN. Good luck to everybody from Michigan.
